challenging myself!

I have been trying to challenge myself to take better pictures and do more texuring. I was blog surfing this morning and popped into Sadie Olive and decided to try it! Since I am not yet doing self portraits, I decide to take a photo of some of my favorite summer shoes and my new glasses. I did them in a mosaic or style board form also. This is for the photo challenge through Kasey's blog. I made 3......take a peek.

The first is my teal tennis shoes, a vintage perfume bottle, a vintage napkins on a teal bench and a milk glass vase textured with teal.

Here are my new glasses, a corner section of one of my vintage rugs, vintage books with the sun beaming in and chippy legs on my metal planter.

My favorite pink tennis shoes, vintage scalloped lacey ribbon, pretty pink roses and vintage seam binding.

estate sale finds...

I had a fun day yesterday.....I took the day off and went to Albert Lea and went antiqueing with my girlfriends, had lunch and then had my mammogram. We had a fun time shopping and while at the antique shop we heard that my friend that I used to do estate sales was having a sale.......so I went to surprise her after my appt! It was so fun to see her and all the girls working and some of the "regulars" that always come. It's fun to go back to the small town we moved from where you know everyone and they know you....

I got these great clocks...yes....thats the original rhinestones on that clock....$3.00 each! I couldn't believe this was still here!!!!! WOW! All this vintage tissue paper for $10.00! Aren't these adorable! They are about 1/2 " tall each. $2.00 for all.


This is a find I found earlier but couldn't believe it! I LOVE Barbola roses and have never seen a bird ~~

Here's my vignette in my house with all my vintage wicker baskets with Barbola Roses...and of my lady oil paintings. You can't really see it in the picture too well but that wallpapered box is what my background is.......I took a pic and Sara put it for my background......I love that box!

I decided to cut out the cute little chick off the tag and put it in the center of the nametag.

We got our Easter eggs dyed! I have 42 people coming........off to check on the ham...hope everyone has a blessed Easter.

I was finishing up with my Easter decorations today and making this Easter sign and these little chicks all seemed to have their own personality..........they are nestled in and around the my grandmas dishes, eggs and nests. They each had something to say...........enjoy.
