I had fun doing this photo last night......I forgot I had these old suitcases and decided to have fun with my New Years photo ~ and of course.....had to add textures and actions to make it "vintage". Thanks for all your kind comments and hope 2010 is a wonderful year for everyone!

ring those bells....

I love vintage Christmas ornaments....anything vintage Christmas ~ bottle brush trees, shiny brites, aluminum trees.....you name it. I got this bag of vintage bells for a 1.00 at an estate sale and decided to take some pics this weekend of some of my treasures. I like how this turned out with its vintage feel......

beautiful spent blooms series # 5

these sedum turned brown after they froze.....they look more soft burgandy with the sunlight shining on them. I got out there early enough and to my surprise the frost was still around the edges.....looks like God took his glitter and sprinkled them and what a beautiful sight! I love sedum as they look like tiny little florets.....

Spent Bloom Beauty Series

I have been noticing how beautiful my flowers are after the blooms are gone. Instead of being so sad this year when my garden came to a close...... I got my camera and got all the spent blooms on camera. Enjoy my series.

my finds from Round Top, Warrenton & Marburger Farms flea markets

My finds from the Texas flea markets. I am realizing that I am really into the cremes, blacks and of course tarnished silver lately....Couldn't resist this minature diary from 1885. .....so fun to read.
I couldn't believe it when i found these.......they fit me like a glove! Not sure I'll wear them but had to buy them.....and they were so cheap!

I found this fun rusty metal holder.....perfect for all my tarnished silver.
I will cover up the yellow & blue name plate but not sure with what yet....any ideas?

French books!! They were everywhere but found these special ones to bring home.

Fun clock.......what is even more fun.....the name on it is Nielsen......my moms

maiden name.

Diane and I each got one of these.....a great holder for postcards, originally found in an old cash register. I also bought these wonderful roses out of vintage pattern paper.

Isn't this fantastic! It is all hand drawn.

lovely bottles

great smaller journal and lovely velvet from Europe

back from Round Top Flea Market!

We are back from the flea markets in Round Top, Warrenton, and Marburger Farms. We had a blast! We went with another couple ...Diane and Mike and had a wonderful time. The weather was wonderful.....hot , humid and we loved it! We just let the sun soak in when we got off the plane.....we didn't have much of a summer and it felt so good. Heres a fun sign welcoming us to the flea market. Gotta love pink cowboy boots!!

There were so many wonderful antiques from France, Belgium and all of Europe.....heres a wonderful display of vintage books from France......

Here they are all lined up in this wonderful bookcase.

They make everything B I G G E R in Texas......Oh my gosh......this statement rang true the whole week......we have never seen such big stuff before! Seriously.......HUGE items...here's just one booth of massive stuff! It rained one night and even the lightning was bigger in Texas. When we told people that .......the Texans just laughed but its true! Oh and they thought we had the accent.....we laughed at that.

This is the ultimate B I G G E R in Texas.........this was on the menu as a hotdog!!! UNREAL! We laughed so hard, I just had to get a picture of Diane trying to eat it.

Stay tuned for picture of what I bought!!!!!!!

my inspiration board.........

I finally got my inspiration board done. I have had this awesome sign for years and knew I would find the perfect place for it someday. I have used it in the past for the sign for my plant exchange. I covered it with burlap and then in keeping with the black, white and creme theme...I did mostly those colors. My new banner is some of my dried hydrangea.
Fun magazine finds, jewelry, little purses, millinery.

relaxing weekend.........

Did everyone have a relaxing weekend? We sure did. We went to the cabin and I got some great photos. We were 4 wheeling and the sky was so beautiful coming through the trees......I had to stop and capture it. God was using his pastel paints on Saturday afternoon....This stopped me in my tracks.........these were off a thistle that was going to seed and the leaf was stuck in them and the sky so beautiful.........a kodak moment for sure.....don't they look like either a spider web or a pretty snowflake...

There is an abandoned building down the road. Gorgeous grapevine growing in and all around it.......had to capture this moment. Hope everyone has a wonderful week!

where I create.......

I am getting my room put together..... I started out by buying these matching black book cases....and slowly adding other furniture. I made this C R E A T E banner on Sunday. I have had these letters for a couple of years just waiting for the right time.......well here it it.....and I had just the letter to C ~ R ~ E ~ A ~ T ~ E it.
Love all my vintage ledger paper, old reciepts.....can't wait to use all of them.

Some of my favorite things......old lace, buttons, vintage jewely, old reciept books, and old photos and books.

I L~O~V~E this new holder. We found it on our way to my moms for her birthday. It came out of the basement of a 75 year old electrical shop....the perfect place for all my ribbon, horse ribbons and millinery flowers.

Love old receipt books.
Some of my stamps and wonderful vintage beach babes.

A rainbow of rick rack.

Old check, vintage letters and 3 huge matching rhinestone buttons.

Thanks for coming along with me on a tour of my room where I create. I will share more later......I have to put together my inspiration board ......can't wait to get started!
